My Cabin Air Filter
I was trying to fix the rattle in my glove box in my 98 LS. As I was searching for the rattle I found the cabin air filter behind the glove box.
I was glad!!! So I decide to pull it out, and when I did pull it out I wasnt smiling. That filter was black, filled with dust and leafs. I tried to clean the filter off , but it riped in two parts.
I wanted to find the last owner of the car and punch him in the face.....I was really upset. Went to the dealer and got a new filter for $36.
Point is, please check your filter and if its bad, change it. Its only $40. Small price to pay for good air inside your car, and saving your Heating/Cooling system in your car.

Well the rattle is the glovebox itself. It sounds like the rattle is just resonating inside of it. If I hit the glove box while its closed the noise is there, and even in open position.
Ther are 10 screws holding the interior of the box to the outside door, and I didnt bother taking them off cause I couldnt get to the last ones at the bottom.
I am suspecting the locking mechanism as well.
either way it doesnt bother me that much as I always have music playing in the car at any given point and the car is not that quiet to begin with.
Now there is an annoying rattle coming from my drivers door that is driving me insane, I have to take the damn door panel off.

I went to Jiffylube and they supposedy changed mine....not sure if they puled out my glovebox that quick i wasn't really paying attention, but I paid about $40 for a new one. When I get my car back from the shop I'm going to check it out and see if they really did change it!!
