Alternator Pinout?

Alternator Pinout?
Can anyone tell me where the three wires on the volt reg go (which color goes where)?
My plug took its own life last night upon removal of a bad alt.
I'm assuming one is a switched 12v, one excites the alt, and the last is a 12v constant.
