new member with questions
guys need a lil bit of help here
I might be leaving the Benz world for a while and I was browsing the 98-00 Lexus LS400 market and I just want to know if anyone has owned one and their experiences with them.
So what do you guys think are the price ranges of these cars and what are their pros and cons?
Thanxs in advance for those who help out

You are about to be flooded with a bevy of responses from this quetion. LOL!!!
OK,, leaving the Benz world,,good move!!!! Welcome to the sainer side of the world. The 98-00 Lexus LS is said by many here to be one of the best models. Sophisticated style and comfort (like you will never believe), reliability and performance (like you would never expect). The Lexus LS is the flagship car for the Lexus line-up, and in the year you are looking at, you will have a very positive ownership experience. Parts can be a little pricey, but thru this forum, we can help each other save a little money by suggesting places to look. Best part about owning a Lexus,, it can even be serviced by a Toyota Dealer.
Pros-
1. Reliable
2. very quiet
3. Best model year produced
4. Availability of parts
5. Servicibility - Can be fixed by Toyota dealer if Tech is certified
6. Quick turn-around on service time
7. Maintain it, and it will hardly ever fail you
8. YOU WILL ACTUALLY SPEND MORE TIME ENJOYING YOUR CAR ON THE GROUND INSTEAD OF LOOKING AT IT ON A LIFT BEING SERVICED. LOL!!!
Cons-
1. Am biased,, so cant think of any!!!!!
Have to search around to find them, this model year is very popular and it sells quickly. Can find them in the $10-15K(American) category. I dont have this model year, I have an older one, however am sure that many members here will be hitting this thread soon and can share some more infor with you. Just my 2 cents worth.

Stock the car has quite a bit of power but most guys do cold air intake, cat back dual exhaust, EGR delete and some other mods. I bet you'd like it with an intake and exhaust - just those would make a nice difference.

thanks alot and BTW is it tru the american-spec LS400s don't come with rear seat controls?? Coz most of the ones we get here have that feature which is kinda cool for the passengers

The package you ae referring to is the "Ultra package"(I think), not quite sure what it is officially called on the LS models before the LS430 Ultra. Anyway, pre 01 LS's with the rear seat controls are a much desired feature, however they are scarce to find here.

Replace scare with impossible, and you'd be correct. The Ultra Luxury Package has only been offered since 2001 in the USA.
