Default 99 ls400 clunking noise

I have a clunking noise from front area of my 99 LS400. It usually happened after the car had been park and when you break.
Also when I go on straight reverse I can hear squeaking noise like brake noise.

Anybody can help me?

so does it happens when you put it in park? And it happens while your in reverse, might be a tranny mount or u-joint. I would also check the brakes to.

Can you give more details so we can try to help you? Test drive the car over bumps, dips and turn while braking harder side to side to isolate the clunk.

The clunk is pretty common in our cars - lots of posts on this site. If it clunks when going over a bump or dip in the road it is suspension related (i.e. ball joints, strut bar, etc.). The sound usually comes from the floor board area.

As for brakes, there's a wear indicator on your dash (red circular light with dashes on either side) that eluminates when pads get worn. There are internal pads for the parking brake also but they do not have an indicator bro.

Thank you steveski

Usually in the morning is the worst after the car park for all night. When I drive it for the first time in the morning and try to stop at the stop sign close to my house (about 100 feet) I can hear the clunking noise from right front tire area. Also happened when I try to do reverse after the car park for quite some time.

If it is one clunk and then it is gone, it honestly doesn't sound like the same clunk that comes from your suspension components mentioned above. That clunk is like hitting the floor with your heel pretty hard and it is pretty consistent.

Your clunk almost sounds to be brake related, especially if it is one clunk and then it is gone. The front brake pads have pins that allow the pads to slide to and from the rotor. I am curious if maybe they could be sticking.....? When it does, it makes a "pop". Maybe you could take the tire off and take a quick look.

Wish I could add more - others will chime in and add some different perspective.

I have a clunk when changing direction and braking hard in either one. I have worn upper ball joints and both front strut rods.

The Clunk Noise Could Be From The Disk Braking Just Sticking From The Moisture From Over Night Parking. This Happens To Me Now And Then.
