You have a loose belt that is screeching, or your alternator bearings are going out and making that noise. Check to see exactly where the sound is originating from

he is right!
More likely your alternator pulley. The ball bearings do tend to go bad on high mileage LS.I changed my tensioner(not timing belt tensioner) and the alternator becuase of this noise. Not to forget it could be the belt.

miles..
i have about 107000 miles on my car.. and the noise is somewhere by the engine.. for sure in the front.. and acutally it sounds like a cricket.. at nutural it dont make any or barely any.. but if i put it on d or R the noise is pretty big.. and constant.. still think is the alternator bearing? or the belt? please advice.. how much would it cost to fix ?
