Default Replacing water pump on '93 LS400

Well, I am hearing a slight rumbling sound under the hood, and when I put
a bright light on the water pump area, I see that the fan clutch housing on the
front of the water pump is shaking. I think that's a pretty clear indication
that the water pump bearing is shot. It's getting worse very quickly, so I
was wondering if there is a pictorial tutorial on replacing the water pump.
I have seen one for replacing the timing belt. It had lots of pictures with
great directions. Perhaps I could use that one to get the water pump off,
as it has to come off to get to the timing belt. Any assistance would be
appreciated. Thanks

Default Water Pump

Well, for your information, I did do some searching, but I
was doing it within ClubLexus, and that's not where that
tutorial is. The link you sent is the one for which I was
looking, but it was 1:00 AM, and I might not have been at
my best. I now realize that it is not the water pump at
all but the fan bracket that sits over that pump that is
bad. Thanks for that link, as it is still what I need to re-
move that bracket.

Default member here?

This was a good place to look. Don't know what happened to this guys pictures. Anyone know if he is a member here? If so, get him to repost the pics or Re-link them.

Also you may as well do your timing belt too while you're down there.

Default replacing water pump

Two posts above yours is a very good website posted by
crazimofo. (Great name, huh?) Turns out it wasn't the
water pump at all but what is called the fan bracket that
does nothing but hold the fan. I did used pictures from
the above website to assist me in doing the job. Boy,
Lexus just doesn't make any engine repair easy. God
help me if I ever have to have a starter replaced.
