Default Water pump replacement - 94 LS400

So my water pump is bad, and I am looking to replace it. I've read the tutorial on lexls.com, and it seems like one hell of a job, however the tutorial is for water pump and timing belt. My timing belt only has around 30K on it, so there's no reason to replace it, and I want to know if I can skip any of the steps if I'm replacing the water pump only.

You can proably skip those sections which involve the timing belt only. Bottom line is, you still have to go thru all of the steps of un-installation just to get to the water pump. Unfortunately there is no way around it. This is why most people replace the TB AND Water Pump together, b/c it is such a pain to get to. Doing it once is bad enough but having to break it all apart again to do another component which could have been replaced b4 when it was all apart is even worse. Good luck.

.....and, while it open this time, why not replace the TB since the labor has effectivellty been done? For the cost of the belt, you would have another
90K miles before having to go back in. Would be a good time to also be sure the other items associated with the TB replacement are completed, as some of them may have seemed unneccessary 30K back.

Such as a replacement of the cam and crank seals.
