No heat or A/C '98LS
1998 LS400, 90K miles: Without prior problems my air conditioning no longer blows cold or even cool air. While checking the A/C settings I discovered the heater does not blow hot or even warm air. I can hear and feel the A/C compressor kick on and the valve for the heater cycles open and closed. I think I might have two different problems. I moved to Hawaii three years ago with the car and have not used the heater since. But I have used the A/C every day and it has worked fine.
I performed the fault test and I get faults 21 and 24. Anyone know what these faults are?

There may be a leak... Take it to a shop and let them diognose the problem and then get it recharged. It happened to me too. A/C went out and then i recharged it and it leaked out in one hour. I found out i had a leak in my evaporater. Good luck

Codes 21 and 24 are solar sensors.
21 is for driver side
24 is for passenger side
If you take a flashlight and shine it on small button close to windshield and on the edge of defroster ducts it will clear code. These 2 codes are normal unless you check codes outside in sunlight.
As for your problem with no heat or A/C, there are too many items to speculate.
Good luck

Also had evaporator leak on '98
I also had an evaporator leak on a '98. But it was in the summer and I don't know if it also affected the heater... about $200 bucks fixed the AC.

At this point I think I have two different problems. The heater may have crapped out over a year ago for all I know. I haven't used it in 3 years and don't expect to need it any time soon. Although, the temperature here has been plunging into the low 70’s at night.
The A/C most likely developed a leak the other day and stopped cooling. Unlike the heater, the A/C has not been turned off in 3 years. The car is going into the shop in a week or so to have the rear bumper replaced due to a small accident last weekend, I’ll have the A/C checked for a leak then.
