Question Need info on upper-control arm

hey guys,

I finally need to replace the ball joint in the upper control arm in my '92 ls, but due to the lexus complex front-end if the ball joint goes, one cannot replace only the joint, instead there is a need to purchase the whole control arm.

I changed the right one about 2 years ago when I used to know someone at a lexus shop, so I got a discount. The work alone was a $100+, now the left one went.

I no longer have the contact and now have to spend around $300 on the part alone.

My question is: does anyone know any good and less expensive lexus parts sites, or even the used parts sites those are reliable. I've seen some junk yards selling the part for $125 but they only guarantee the condition of a control arm and not the ball joint inside, which is the main problem, since rarely do control arms break.

I appreciate any feedback,

Alex

Default I have two extra ones I can sell you

I can guarantee you that they are good.I bought them from a yard after I thought the control arm was my problem but my problem is brake related. The ball on my old one is pretty stiff and has no play like they usually have when they are bad.I think the dealer wants about $300 for a new one.I have two extras that I can gaurantee.
BTW I have two for the drivers side.
They are all the same from 90-94

Default I may be interested...

blkstealthpd4, I may be interested if Rulex doesn't want 'em. Of course, Rulex gets first chance. My LS goes in the shop to check the left front ball joint on Monday. May need a replacement.

Actually, you say you have two? Both with good joints? Then if Rulex doesn't want both I'm probably going to need one.

Default make an offer

Yes I do have two and the main problem with these is because the ball joints have an up and down play in them and not left to right play.Just email me and make me an offer since the dealer wants about $300 for each.

blkstealthpaid4,

Yes I am interested in getting one, and I do need it for the driver side.
The reason I wasnt sure about the condition is b/c I have ordered one from the yard and it was in worse shape than mine
But if you say yours are good, then I am definitely interested.

I will contact you through email,

thanks in advance

Alex

Default I did email you to make an offer

It definitely wouldn't be the junkyard price you mentioned.
