Greetings,
I need to remove the front headrest for the power seats. BUT, I dont want to break them. They dont easily pull out. I dont want to force them.
Is there some magic push pull thing I am missing. The Repair manual is no help.
Any and all responses welcome.

Thanks

Headrest removal note to the photo posted by fantomd (PS, thanks to fantomd for the post). I just removed the electric headrest on my 1992 LS400. Run the headrest up to it's highest position before removing it. Once you run the headrest all the way up, push down on both plastic support rings at the same time, and the headrest will snap right out. It was a piece of cake.

I tried to push the plastic support rings on a 2000 ls400. It wont push down to release the head rest. Now i dont remember if i pushed down on it both of them at same time.

Anyone else having this issue on a 98-00 LS400?

i need to look at mine but i don't think mine are power?! I looked for a button and didnt find it. But, i did try to raise it some the other day and it wouldn't budge!! I looked for a small button where the metal supports go into the seat back (that's what you push on my land cruiser to raise and lower the headrest) and there were no buttons.

I was frustrated and just dropped it before i got mad and broke something.

they are power, its a button down by the seat controls that is a toggle switch, up and down only.

Ok i raised it all the way. I tried pressing down on both platic support rings. It did not work. Does anyone know how to remove the headrest on 98-00 LS400? I tried to see if there is a release button in the headrest itself, but i didnt notice anything. I have seat covers to put on. Maybe someone has the factory manual for this model?
