Unhappy Oh No, Demonic Noises! Ls400 1990

so, ive suspected having a messed up driveshaft for some time now, all the sudden, if i go over 50 mph, a LOUD vibration coming from the centerline (under the armrest) area can be heard, increasing along side speed...and doubles if i put the power switch on...is this my transmission or was a correct all along about the driveshaft?

thanks

Could be.

I though I had a failing U-joint but it was a bushing in the rear diff and a bearing in the tranny going south. Caused vibration and a heck of a lot of noise that seemed to come from the center of the car. The guys put a listening device to each of these components and listened to it while in drive while on a lift. He told me the drive shaft was fine, I breathed a sign of relief until he told me the cost for a rear diff was $1,800 and tranny $2,800. Factory rebuilt.

Check the tranny fluid and diff fluid...these may be indicators of the drive line. How many miles on your car?

i recently had that rear driveshaft bearing thing that looks crazy...got like 8 bearings in it...and it sounds like it went bad again, so that would lead me to believe that the driveshaft is tearing them up..., have about 130k miles on my car
