Idle speed control valve
My car's idle has slowly dropped over time until finally it is down to 200 rpm and then dies. I talked to the dealer and they say I need a new idle speed control valve, which they advise me is a common problem on older LS400s. Anybody have any experience with this. Easy to replace? It doesn't appear to be to difficult in the book.

I don't have any experience with this one in particular. However, I did look at this in the manual and it doesn't seem too bad. The hardest part is going to be getting all the old hoses off the thing. It looks like the part # is 22270-50010 for 8905-9208 models. You'll also need the gasket for the ISC valve, part # 22278-50010. So are u going to DIY? What prices did the dealer tell you for the parts and the labor?

I suggest that you not run off and pay hefty sum of cash to replace your ISCV with a new one before you do the following:
1. Test the functionality of ISCV per service manual.
2. Try to repair ISCV if defective whenever possible. (I have repaired defective ISCV for fellow members at almost no cost under my pilot program).
