Default My new car

Hi guys,

Been reading here for a long time. I just purchased a new to me 2007 LS460 L with every option except executive package.

It has rear seat upgrade package with the big display in arm rest, shades on the side windows and back, cooled rear seats, and cooler. Just not the table and retractable ottoman...
It has Mark Levinson.
It has radar cruise/collision detection.
Air suspension
Advanced parking
Lexus link
Luxury package

And it only has 26000 miles. It has full service history at the Lexus dealership. No issues at all...seriously looks brand new.

Anyone ever bought one with such low miles? Would the age still be a detriment to seals and other components i may not be thinking of? Whats the consensus as to how valuable this low miler really is?

Thanks for any input! Its mine now so it doesn't really matter, but I just wondered what you think.

Congratulations, good looking car. I wish I had shades on the side windows.

I don’t know why, but lots of people like black on black on this car. I think black looks more elegant but light interior is not easy to show wear out.

I think more people prefer low mileage than age of the car. So your car will be easy to resell.

I was told 07-12 LS460, 07 is a more problematic year and 11-12 are more reliable year of model. You said you have been reading on this forum for a long time, so I am assuming you already checked all those common issues with 07 LS before you bought it.

Sometimes electronics will naturally worn out even if you don’t use them. Car is the same. If you are a handy man, that shouldn’t be a big problem, all you need to pay is the parts. I am not a handyman, that is why I always buy pre-owned luxury car with extended warranty. Drove 2000 miles after I bought from dealer, my rear struts are seeping/leaking, without warranty, the labour to replace the pair of struts is 4 hour

Very nice! Congrats...you'll love it. My 08 now has 115k miles and has been the most reliable and trouble-free car I've ever owned. I have only had to replace the water pump (65 bucks) and two mufflers (450 dollars).

Wow, it looks like you bought the proverbial cream puff!

Congrats and I wish you good luck with the car.

No, I hadn't heard anything specific about more issues with the 2007. Can you break down a list of things to be looking for?

Nice ride. You will love the ride of the 460L. Just completed a 1500 mile road trip. Congrats

Nice! First thing I'd do is get the vehicle service history from Lexus and make sure all the recalls have been done. All these cars are know for control arm issues, but it's not a major deal if you have it fixed by an independent. The brake actuators are covered under an unlimited mile extended warranty until Dec 2017. Other than that these cars a pretty damn reliable.

The "Wind Noise" issue was a huge problem for Lexus and owners in several model-years and especially problematic in the '07 and '08 LS460s and LS600s. The cause and a cure for this problem was revealed in this forum several years ago. Many of these problem cars were tied up in litigation regarding the wind noise and sat idle for extended periods and that accounts for the low mileage in some. It is not normal for the cars to have noisy cabins - if you have that problem it is usually easily and inexpensively repaired.

Beautiful! Congratulations to you! A very nice example! I purchased a 2011 LS AWD back in July. One owner and only 18,000 miles. It took a while to find it, but it's worth it. I wish you many happy years with it.

Nicely done!

While I kinda wish I had the rear seat upgrade, I'm glad I don't have radar cruise. The new-to-me '08 L has pretty much everything else, though, so I'm good.

And here I thought an '08 with 93K miles on it was a score....

Congrats so drive and enjoy. Appears to be well taken of and loaded with options. Regardless problems can occur but the 460 is a pleasure to drive and own. It's the best vehicle I've ever owned.

Can you tell me more about radar cruise and why you'd not prefer it?
