Why LS460 400LB lighter than S550?

Why LS460 400LB lighter than S550?
Just discovered that the LS460 Im about to buy is the same weight of my E350 and 400LBs lighter than S550. I thought LS is the Lexus' version of S550? what makes it so much lighter?

Well, the S550 is long wheelbase only I believe, well after a certain model year. So you may want to compare curb weight of the 460L vs S550 to get a comparison. Also, the 4matic vs 460L AWD will be significantly heavier.
S550: 4,630 lbs
S550: 4,773 lbs 4matic I think
S550 with different executive seating options: Unknown or not listed assuming it's different?
LS 460L: 4,550 lbs (with air as the S550 has air)
LS 460L with executive seating package: 4,645 lbs
LS 460L AWD: 4,760 lbs
LS 460L AWD with executive seating package: 4,950 lbs
S550: 4,630 lbs

Rhambler is correct. The S550 only comes in a LWB model, have to compare it to an LS460L
