I typically carry my keys in my laptop bag, and on my 09 LS460 when I use to open up the back door by grabbing onto the handle all the doors would unlock. Now on my 08 LS460L when I open up the back door it doesn't open all the doors. Is this some type of setting I can change? Or is this something they changed from 08 to 09?
It should be under your vehicle settings in the nav system. I believe you have to push the 'phone info' button, then it should be one of the icons on screen. Also, I'm pretty sure the car has to be on, or at least in the run position to access it. In there, one of the settings is door locks. Don't forget to hit save before you exit (I didn't my first time and was puzzled why my settings didnt take).

This is a simple setting my service writer change it for me i forgot which buttons but you can change weather all door or just driver door unlock with the key fob or but touching the door handle it took him 15 seconds just reaching in the car.
if you want to unlock all doors just by touching drivers door once, you can change it by:
going inside the car, close the door and WITHOUT turning on anything, get your key fob out and HOLD BOTH the Panic and Lock button to cycle through the different modes of unlock. Animation will show which mode of unlock will be selected in the top center instrument display (Standard is unlock only driver door when driver inner door handle is touched) next mode is unlock all doors just by touching driver's inner door handle one time.
