Special TPMS for Custom Rims?
I purchased a set of 20" Savini rims and took them, along with the tires and these TPMS sensors to the Toyota shop to have them mounted and balanced.

The service tech just called me and told me that because the valve stem mounts in the center, that I needed a different TPMS sensor that lies flat on the rim. He says that if I use these sensors, that if I have a flat, it will crush the sensor.
This is all new to me, so I thought I would ask if anyone else has ran into this problem, and is there a different sensor that I should use?
Thanks

I think Shibumi would as well...
Good luck!

Will this strap set work? If so, I will just order it. This will be easier than trying to find a shop that will drill the holes.

I personally don't recommend you buying the strap kit because those will make your tpms spin when the wheel rotates. I had this problem on one set of wheels and it would throw the wheel off balance. Best thing to do is find a shop that know how to drill extra hole for the tpms this way it'll sit perfectly on your wheel.
