Voice Command Mic Issue
Thanks in advance for any help and posts.
I have the LS460L 2007, I just bought it used with only fifteen thousand miles on it. When i try to use the voice command or after connecting the bluetooth to my phone it appears that the actual mic inside the car will not pick up sound. it almost appears to be turned off. It is not on mute. I went into the service menu and under navigation there is a way to record your voice and play it back, when i do this only dead air is recorded but no sound.
No commands work as the automated voice says "pardon, please say a command". So essentially my problem seems to be the actual mic is not picking up any sound at all. is there a fix or do I need to take it into the dealer?
Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Everyone,
I have some info on the problem I was facing. The dealership tech advised me that the microphone was having a frequency issue that could not be resolved through the service menus.
As such, the mic is being replaced. Part is around 300 bux.
Just as an intro I am new to the forum but there is some great information on here and a big thank you to everyone for their additions.
By way of background I previously owned an LS 400 for a long time and then upgraded to the LS460L. I have always been a Toyota fan and also have in my garage a mint 1989 Toyota Supra 7m-gte which is running several mods including using a LS400 Air Flow Meter with upgraded injectors etc.
The reliability and comfort of the LS is in my opinion is one of the best around. Thanks again for everyone's contributions to this awesome forum!
