Default ls460l mpg nyc

hey i was just curious to see what you guys were getting with your mpg. i have a '10 ls460 l with awd and this is by far the worst ive ever had in any car or truck that ive owned and im honestly very surprised, right now mine is reading at 7.9 and thats probably %90 city but jesus christ my 04 range rover and my 08 escalade did better than that, is anybody here seeing numbers like mine?

Maybe you should check your mpg manually. Even if you are an aggressive driver, it should be more than 7.9, however, that is only my opinion based upon my own experience.

It might be the stop and go traffic in New York or should I say stop stop stop and go at each traffic light.

I get 17-18 in the city with 22 inch full face chrome rims aka really heavy. But I do have the Hybrid 600. My highway numbers suck tho I get 22-23 tops so average of about 19-21 combined 60/40 highway to city

In the steep hills of Pittsburgh, city driving with lots of stop/starts up grades etc, my 2009 AWD gets 16-17 mpg on 89 octane gas. On the highway, driving 55 with no A/C I have been able to squeeze 30....but 25-26 is a more normal expectation at 65 w air.

EDIT ADDITION: I remember that my 1977 Mercury Monarch (Ford Granada clone) got about 13 around town and 17 on the highway. Granted ALL cars are way improved since then, but just to put it in perspective.

to add to the responses ive read, i mentioned nyc to give an idea of extreme stop and go traffic so for those that arent familiar it isnt nice and the streets are a disaster....but still ive lived in nyc my whole life i dont see why a range rover, escalade plus every other car ive had would do better, in all fairness ive gotten 30 mpg on the highway from nyc to dc without even trying
