Loud Popping noise from rear of the car
When the car is in a situation where there is a twisting force, such as entering an inclined driveway from an angle, a loud POP is sometimes heard from the rear of the car. The intensity of the POP varies dependent on speed and angle of incline, higher speed/greater incline/decline produce a louder POP. Any ideas? Thank you

Frustratingly, I have the same thing on my '08 SWB. I've had it into the dealer 4 separate times to have them try to find & fix it.
They've re-tightened all the suspension parts/fasteners, verified the struts and other suspension parts are okay. I was convinced it was something in the suspension, but after a while, I noticed that the POP was actually coming from above my head.
In at least one other thread, it was suggested that it might be an issue with the sunroof rails in the ceiling of the car. The problem is that it's hard to consistently reproduce, and I've only managed to get it to happen once with one of the Lexus techs in the car with me while driving around.
Good luck finding & remedying the problem.

I had a similar problem with my 2006 GS 430. Every time I went up my driveway (incline), I would hear a popping noise as the body would go up the driveway. I would also hear it when I drove slow over bumps. This may not be your (noise issue), but Lexus discovered mine was a tap weld in front of the trunk lid. They said they removed the trunk liner to get to it. And by pushing and pulling on the cross support (under the sheet metal), they could replicate the sound. It was not a structural issue, so they lubricated the contact. The sound was gone. As I said, this may not be your source of the noise. Just my experience, good luck!
