1/4 Mile run LS460L

An autocross course is more abusive to an average car than a dragstrip. But my RX-7 had a very easy time with auto-crossing. It was only hard on tires ... but not even that bad. The RX-7 never got hot because a) it wasn't running long before it was over, and b) I could not hold my foot down on the floor because the turbos stayed lit 95% of the run and with the turbos spooling, any little touch of the throttle and the tires were spinning. So, once I had the turbos spooling it was mostly modulating the throttle, not much load.
I roadraced motorcycles a hundred years ago, and would LOVE to get the RX-7 on Road Atlanta. But in its current state it would likely burn up, crystalize the brakes, and blow the maypops.

The tires squealed off the line but didn't roast them. Definitely avoid the water and no need for a burn out. I honestly don't think awd will make a difference because wheel spin isn't really a problem. The 600's awd helps because there is actually more power being put down. With a 460 awd it might actually hurt the times. The extra weight in the car may or may not make a difference with the amount of weight already in the car. same with the AC. may or may not make a difference. all these things made a difference when I used to run a much smaller car with a better HP to weight ratio. with such a heavy car i don't see it making much difference. What will probably make the most difference is ambient temp. I ran much slower times at Sacramento raceway where it was 100 degrees. Sonoma race was warm but progressively got coolder as the night went on and the times got better too. I think with temps going down and the computer reading that it brought out more performance out of the car.

If I could afford it, I think I'd do it. The sound alone would be worth it.
