I could never do 24s as I spend a lot of time on the road. 22s is pushing it for me. Actually looking at downsizing to 21s which I think will be the best compromise for me with looks vs ride quality

My ride quality has been better than I expected. I have taken 3 road trip between 100 and 150 miles and have been very comfortable. I don't think (within context) rim size affects ride quality as much as most think on cars with forgiving suspensions. Everything after 35 series has such a stiff sidewall due to reinforcing it mostly rides the same. 255/30 and 275/25 on 22's or 24's will mostly ride the same. (I know I need a BBK upgrade for 24's) But if you decrease rim size and add more tire there will be a difference. So let's say Cjitty you go from your setup to a 245/35 and 295/ 35 on a 21 ride quality will increase.
Most of these opinions about poor ride quality comes from people who have never had experience with larger rims or extreme fitments. Not trying to ruffle any feathers but opinion is different from fact.

My tire sizes are 255/30 and 275/25 Toyo's. The rear is stretched a little more than I would like. When Pirelli's come off backorder I'm switching to those with 285 in back but I'm loving the Toyo's so far.

Nice car ,I've had 2sets of forgiatos a one set of Amani forged both 22s I'm thinking of doing 24s one question
Does it have to be lifted or cut I'm doing a 24x9 front an 24x10 rear with a 275-23-24 tires there smaller than the
275-25-24s

When you say "ride quality", are you comparing it to stock? Are you referring to "firmness" vs "comfortable"? The smaller sidewalls will definitely provide a harsher, firmer, and harder ride. The chances of bending a wheel, especially the inside barrel, are much, much higher with a 24" rim. Add that to a stretched tire and a 275/25 profile and it's just a matter of time before you have issues. I can imagine you changing lanes on a major highway where trucks make ruts in the road and have the inside barrel hit the rut......not good.
It's a matter of a balanced look (wheel size to car size) and keep the outside diameter of the tire within 3% of stock. I have not checked but I can almost guarantee the 275-25-24's are not within 3%.

That's one thing I've noticed with this car is the ability to house huge wheels. I'm not sure if it's by design or purely coincidental, but that wheel well is gigantic comparatively speaking. This car can swallow wheels like nothing versus a Mercedes S550, where 18 inch standard OEM wheels looks like 20 inch wheels on our car, at least in regards to normal-height/stock cars.

@cjitty my bad homie. I wasn't directing those statements toward you but toward the guy with the animated wagon wheel pic. Your knowledge and your builds are why I have an LS460. The videos on YouTube of the drive-bys sold me as soon as I saw them. You and Tee have been very informative and helpful with all the post and videos across the internet. You guys are LS460 God's. Much respect!!! I also swap oem on and off for roadtrips. Your write ups about the lowering springs and no camber kit are what swayed me towards the 24's. No fender gap without lowering. In truth airride and 22s would have been ideal and I am currently researching air suspensions. Also in showing the car, everyone does 22's, so 4's will definitely standout. Extreme is my thing I guess.
