Default WoW ! Dealer wants $600 for TPMS sensors.

I live in Rochester Ny and the last snowfall did me in since I have an 08 RWD LS 460. Wanted to get a second set of snow tires since I bought OEM rims on ebay. Any way the dealer wants $1100 + tax on 4 Nokian Hakka K snow tires and $600 for the TPMS sensors. Is this reasonable? doesn't sound like it to me.

Tirerack.com charges $368 for 4 mounted sensors. They are a Club Lexus supplier, so the final price may even be better. Link to their site from this forum so they get credit for it, and you may even find a much better arrangement for your needs.

600 bucks is a ripoff! I got a set of Lexus OEM sensors for ~100 bucks off ebay for the 22s.

Just make sure you get the correct part #s for the LS. pm me if you want the ebayId of the seller (not sure if i can post that here since there are sponsors as someone mentioned).

I just bought them from Ebay for $105 shipped. the part number matched what the dealer was saying I needed. Thats incredible $500 difference in Price. How can that be?

Picked up my car after the 5000K service and the car was unwashed with grease prints on the bumper. I was really shocked as they kept telling me how good their service was when I bought the car. Of course they offered to wash it after I complained but I had to wait. This is Dorschel Lexus in Rochester NY

Just a little advice: Wash the car yourself. You probably would refuse to have it washed by the kid that does it at the dealership if he offered anywhere else. Lexus dealers certainly don't wash cars any better than you can, and the guy who does couldn't give a rat's behind about your car.

its ironic you posted this about the car wash. i had my new burgundy ES in for transmission replacement at 2000 miles and it appeared to me that the rag or drying device left multiple parallel scratches in the clearcoat - i envision a water blade with sand embedded in it. the dealership was good and had them buffed out but it sure was disappointing . then a few months later i was washing the winter salt/grime off and as i moved the hose it was very stiff due to the cold weather and it contacted the rear bumper and scratched it a good one.

Actually the dealership I use has a really good detail dept. They have very nice Automated Car Wash and will even buff out scratches if you ask them. Living in cold weather and having 3 small kids and a busy life leaves no time for washing a car.

Anyway I guess Ebay is the place to go for these TPMS sensors as everywhere else is unreasonable. I'm having my snow tires installed Mon.

"...i was washing the winter salt/grime off and..."

What's this winter salt/grime that you speak of? You may want to move that LS down here to the south!
