Default Keeping Audio Screen On

First post in awhile....but can't seem to keep the audio screen on as it goes to the Nav screen. I went to the Info screen and turned "off" the "audio to nav screen" option, and have done this several times, but it continues to switch over. What's odd is I had it working the way I wanted it for some time, and suddenly it reverted back to switching back to the Nav screen. Any suggestions? I'm taking it in for it's 10,000 mile check soon, so I'm sure the dealer can help, but would like to get this fixed now as it is a little annoying to me. Thanks....

I would be interested in hearing an answer to this as well. It doesn't seem to matter how I set the screen setting, it always defaults to Nav every time I start the car and each time I choose a forward gear after backing up.

Perhaps the Lexus engineers spend a lot of time being lost but it would be nice if the screen would remain where I choose to leave it which is always on Audio.

Yup....exactly....anyone have any ideas out there? Driving around an area where I have lived for 46 years means I don't need the NAV system every day, and would prefer to keep the Audio screen up instead.

This is an easy one guys!

Hit the hard "DISPLAY" button. Then the soft touch screen "SCREEN OFF" button. Then hit the hard "AUDIO" button and you are good to go.

There is a setting somewhere in the menu that allows you to turn off the default nav screen. I changed mine and it will stay on the audio screen or climate control screen without flipping back.

From your Navigation System Owner's Manual:

Lexus calls it Automatic Transition, and the control for this is accessed through the INFO/Screen Setting menu. Select OFF at the "Automatic transition from Audio/Air Conditioner to Navigation / etc option, then touch OK.

Your Audio/Air Conditioner screens will now remain on.

Burnaby,
You are absolutely correct that by selecting this option your screen will not automatically revert to NAV from Audio or AC, bu as soon as you put your car in reverse and back to Drive, or if Parking sensors go off, it will switch to NAV screen. I believe this is what OP is describing in his post as well.

I've got an idea -- why not just push the AUDIO button to turn the screen back to Audio. This system is in an automobile after all. Shouldn't Safety take precedence over Songs?

Mine reverts right back to the Audio screen. No hiccups here...

Can't fathom what the problem is, if any as the manual is explicit about this procedure, and it works fine for me.

Barnaby....I tried what you described, and in fact, it worked several times in the past. However, the last few times I've tried that it simply doesn't work...go figure.

Now, I tried what Daryl suggested and it worked perfectly! Hit the hard button "Display", then the soft button "Screen Off" (the screen then, in fact, goes off), then hit the hard button "Audio", and POOF, the audio screen is on and it doesn't revert to the Navigation screen.

Anyway, I can't explain why the option Barnaby described didn't work the last few times, but I'm happy with it now and it is good to go. What a great website to have access to. Thanks!
