I'm guessing that Pre-Collision System with Camera refers to the infrared pedestrian/object detection cameras, which the driver cannot see, but the vehicle computers use to detect people and objects ahead. For sure the LS 600h has it, if equipped with the APCS. The rear system was pending FCC approval, according to one source.

Is it the camera on the steering wheel facing the driver?
It's supposed to tell if the driver is not looking at the road when a collision is imminent so the PCS can be automatically activated.

...that is very wrong of lexus they should want there buyers to be safe in all of there cars!
Maybe, but they want some of their cars to list for under 100 grand!
Frankly, you may not want that. I have a friend with an Infiniti M45 with the Lane Departure System. In this case the camera focuses on the lines in the road and alert you when you cross the line without signaling. He says most of the time its the biggest annoyance you can imagine.
Many years ago when I did a lot of driving well into the late night and early morning hours, I would have killed for such a system. Now it would be a useless option that I wouldn't use and wouldn't want to pay for.
