Tips and Tricks you might not know about your LS

At least for the 2007 models, the soft close doors were part of the "One Touch Open/Close Power Trunk & Power Door Closers" option with a MSRP of $395.
I only got this option because of the one touch trunk close. However, I have so much come to appreciate the soft door close. It doesn't happen often, but times when your hands are full and you nudge the door close with your hip, it's nice that the door closes even if you didn't nudge it enough. The alternative used to be putting everything down so you could slam the door!

The strap in my Lexus holds the first-aid kit. Then again, one can clean cuts with some washer fluid

Mine has the first aid kit in that strap from the factory.

Maybe your making a joke but some trunk lids have the power option. It takes what seems like forever to open by itself instead of just flipping up with really no resistance anyway. Closing with power doesn't matter because you just walk away anyway you don't just stand there and wait. Now power tailgates make lots of sense because they are heavy and tall to reach on pull down. If I was picking options this pr door close and trunk lid option would not be on my list. They help give the car the wow factor and I guess that's part of a 75 to 90k car. And some people seem to like it anyway.

Ohhhh, duhhhh I just didn't decipher power from pr. But I agree with you. When pulling the latch at the rear, it is too slow to open. Pushing the button from the inside is fine because it is up by the time you get back there. It also doesn't make sense that pushing the button from the inside does not close the trunk. I've had a couple of occasions where I sat in the car, looked in the mirror saw it up. I just wanted to push the button and drive away. But I had to get back out.

Yep...that strap holds the First Ad kit. But no reason one can't be resourceful and find multiple uses for something!

Once again the pr tailgate is almost the only thing that hasn't broken on that car. Yet!

Yea my self park either doesn't work or I cant figure out how to use it. When I get it to do anything it just cuts off in the middle of the backup. The pr trunk lid is just plain stupid. My opinion only.
