New XM Discount Card
Just got in the mail a postcard from XM inviting me to "Come Back to XM." It is $77 for 12 months, and waives the activitation fee. Here is where I think it is different from the one in a previous thread. It has an expiration date (March 7, 2008) and has a Savings Code which is supposedly tied to the recipient. The fine print says it is an exclusive offer available only to the recipient. Anyway, I let my XM expire after the first 3 month free period (at the end of December) because I just wasn't listening to XM. The sound quality for the three classical stations (the only thing I listened to at all) was a notch lower than my recorded CD's on the HDD (at 256K resolution). The traffic markers on the navigation were the most useful and they weren't all that great for me in the SF East Bay. In any case I may call them back to see whether the $77 includes the traffic. If it does, I may renew for a year.
Has anyone gotten this "Come Back to XM" offer? Thanks, Larry

I didn't get one because I got the $77 dollar deal in October when my 3 month trial ended (thanks again joedaddy).
I never thought I would pay for radio, but I liked XM so much I had my wife give me a Pioneer Inno portable XM radio for Christmas (with subscription of course).
The Pioneer Inno portable is incredible. If you are listening to a song that you like, you can just touch a button and the complete song is added to your memory so you can play it anytime. Also I can get stock quotes and sports scores continually updated on the screen.
I would love to see Lexus add this capability to their car radio.

I received the card as well but don't plan on using it unless they would throw in the real time traffic.
I'm still waiting for the merger when they are supposed to offer more attractive packages and pricing.

XM Traffic varies by area, but I really like it. We don't even have flow data yet in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, but just seeing the traffic accident and construction icons on the map has saved me a lot of delays. And when I travel, it's great in metro areas and on major highways.
I guess it's not for everyone, but I personally think it's worth as much as the XM Radio itself is!

One of my relatives who lives in the L.A. area says you should always take food and water and something to pee in when you need to go across town.
The last time I passed through there connecting from I-10 to the 5, I understood what he meant. Fortunately, a Carl's Jr. at the 210 and the 5 saved my bladder from serious injury.
