Inked a deal today
Well, the end of the month and end of year really DO help. To slice to the bottom line, the dealer and I - after several rounds of negotiation - were about $120 apart on monthly lease payment. That equates to about $4,000 in total cap cost.
So I went in to the dealership today, asked for the New Car Sales Mgr., and just told him what I would do and if he couldn't do it, we'd just close the file and part friends. Well, apparently they figured out a way to do it.
They're having to get the car from out-of-state, and BTW they're eating the transport costs. It's a 2008 SWB Smoky Granite/Alabaster with ML/Nav, Comfort/Advanced Parking, and door closers. And they're also tinting the windows and including lifetime free car washes in the deal.
It's all subject to my approval of the car when it arrives, but I don't expect any ugly surprises. They are of course trucking the car here, and I'm told the odometer mileage will be under 25. It could take 1-2 weeks to get here because of the holidays, so I'll check back in when it arrives and finish the story.
Oh - and the Taste of Lexus $750 chit worked, too!

Congrats on the new car Mike!
BTW, if the car washes aren't handwashes, pass on them. And even if they are, I'd still be cautious.

hey i sent you a pm..
i'm also trying to buy a ls460 as well.
are you planning on buying that upgrade to fix the navi block?
the reason i ask is do you know anyone in dfw that can do the upgrade, especially since i'm going to lease and will have to return the car to the dealer at the end of the lease without alteration.

I'm praying Lexus gives up and releases an upgrade that unblocks the nav (okay, hope springs eternal), or else someone cracks the system, but in the meantime the PS harness is the best option. I just hope they become available again soon.

I got my IS350 a year ago from Plano, and worked with Jimmy Jones there. He is a pretty good guy to work with, but I'm just so much closer to Grapevine that they made more sense for me.
