Default Grace Notes Update

Had the Grace Notes Update done today. Latest Version seems to be #1381 dated December 2006.

The latest Map version is the originatl #061. I understand the dealers have been notified of an upgrade but they haven't received it yet.

That's the database which recognizes CD album, song/title/track information and displays it when you load discs that are recognized by Gracenote. But naturally since new CDs etc. are produced all the time the Gracenote database needs to be updated periodically to stay up to date.

Where do you find the firmware revision # for this and everything else?

Sometimes, yes. I have a lot of Thai music, and occasionally it will have the corresponding data. It usually depends on the disk producer. For example, if the disk are published by Grammy (largest Thai producer), there's a good chance a romanized version of the title will be available. I'm certain this may apply to Hanyu Pinyin romanizations as well for Mandarin productions, and other languages as well.

It's pretty cool that Thai music albums can be recognized by the Gracenotes system.
