The Lexus is full-plugged to over the roof with cleveren details and with innovative solutions, which address nearly all needs from the full equipment to environmental protection - and many satisfy. S 600 the better driver car may be and the more radiating status symbol, but the LS 600h opens the more interesting long-term perspectives.

Result by AUTO picture author George Kacher:
Who drives much short distance - leaves itself or to drive -, to which should the Lexus into the closer choice pull. No, not only because of CO2 and Sprit save effect. But also to the satisfaction of the play impulse, which above all the rear passengers in the abundance may realize. As driving machine is not to be struck against it Mercedes. It goes around worlds better, is many more comfortable and makes all around more fun. The S-600-Budget blows up however (nearly) each framework.
Interesting!!! Thx.

In a nutshell, this article says the S600 is a driver's car (i.e. better steering, more responsive, more power, etc...). On the other hand, the writer praises Lexus for a more technologically advanced and environmentally responsible vehicle. From the latter perspective, Lexus wins high praise with some reservations.

Air suspension systems are problematic, expensive and less reliable than the regular suspension. This is true regardless of the brand since the air suspension system is a lot more complicated than the regular one. I have seen them all. They are a blast to drive but once they get old they are less reliable and expensive to fix.

BTW, not all systems are created equal. IMHO, interm of driving dynamics, Lexus air systems are not on par with the German.

Mercedes' ABC (Active Body Control) is reliable (I haven't heard any issues from it, only Airmatic) and it's a revolution in terms of air suspension design and responsiveness.

It controls the R230 *very* well. IMO if Mercedes offers it as an option on a particular vehicle -- you must check it

Correct and a great summary of the original article. The also complained about trunk space in the LS and said the styling is not very exciting. They called it a big Camry, basically. I completely disagree with them on the styling point, but I am glad to see the car get a mostly favorable review.

Interesting. I didn't realize the 600h came with a CVT. I thought it used the same 8-speed as the 460. Is this standard, or an option?
