Default 2007 LS car seat-any idea how much?

Anybody know how much a replacement driver seat is? I was thinking about replacing my gs350 drivers seat. I'm hoping it would be a drop in fit...

I'm sure it will cost a bundle with the heating/cooling dozens of motors, etc.

Like $2k for the seat? I can't picture it being $5k.

I doubt you'll be able to do that at all. I wanted to do the same with my '04 430 because the seat was so bad. I found out that there are sensors in the seat that connect to the SRS airbag system and other systems and, according to Lexus at least, there is no way you can put any other seat in the car without disabling several of the safety systems. They wouldn't touch it at all. So I went to a custom upholstery shop, and they were willing to alter the foam, but that was all, for the same reasons that Lexus stated.

Certainly, you won't be able to drop in a seat from another model.

first of all, it doesnt come as an seat, rather collection of 1,000 parts that make the seat... so yes, it would be really, expensive...

really? so if I got into an accident where the seat was toast, they litterally need to shop a whole box of parts and the dealer needs to put it together? aww junk.

I think that's a bit of an exaggeration. I have a schematic of the driver's seat in the LS430, and there's only around 50-60 parts. And no, the dealer doesn't have to put them all together. There are several major assemblies that can be ordered through the parts dept (headrest, back, seat, pan, motor, etc.)

Why not just ask a dealer then?

if you get into an accident, dealer gets to order a LOT of individual parts :-).

I have seen part lists with few hundred items....
