Magnaflow Exhaust
Hi All,
Need some help. I am looking at an Axle back Exhaust for the LS460 and from the previous threads, I think Magnaflow might be a good choice.
My LS460 is a 2007. I know Magnaflow makes an exhaust for the LS460 but on their website it says its for a 2012. Is there any differences I should be aware of from the 2007 compared to the 2012? Will this exhaust fit and work on the 2007? Has anyone done this?
Please let me know.
Thank you,
V

Why do you want to change it??? "IF" you are looking for the deeper sound of a V8 at an affordable price please check out Oliver Entrperprises exhaust vents in the vendor section....... He is a active member here and a good guy to deal with.

Sorry very new to the term 'vent stacks' didn't know this was an option. I rather this than doing the entire exhaust.
When you say 'double stacked' you have two vents for each exhaust? I am looking for a deeper sound of a V8. How easy is the install?

GR6RR, I don't remember selling you but just 1 set of plates. Are you sure that's not what you have? 1 set (1 Exhaust Vent per flange) does sound as you describe.

I was one of your first buyers, I received a second set minus the bolts. I liked the single stack per side, but wanted a bit louder... so double stacked each side and I havent taken it off since. camper

When I replaced my mufflers last year, I could not locate any aftermarket exhaust for my 08. I did a ton of research, to no avail. The only option was to use mufflers that closely resembled the factory ones, which turned out to be those for a Chev Cavalier GT. Even then, it required some modifications to make it work.

I just put a set of the exhaust vents on my 2011 awd, I am so happy wit the sound. Its perfect for this car. When you do get on it, you really know that this is a fast, powerful V8. Great sound. I bet a lot of people don't drive these very aggressive. They are very quick for their size. It really put a smile on my face as the car always seemed to be missing a little bit of personality. These vents added just what was missing. I cant imagine anyone would be disappointed with the sound. If you want it quite, it is, just keep your foot out of it. It is not too loud when you get into it. Well worth the money as you can tell a lot of thought and trial went into the process of getting the sound just right.

Also, I had a GS 400 for many years and I put on a Rod Millen exhaust cat back system. Very subtle, this sounds just like that if anyone knows that system and sound...

mckellyb - Thanks for posting that. I hadn't noticed someone was looking for it. And for posting the Borla. That is the most competitive sound and price I've seen yet.
I will mention, to buy a pair of Borla mufflers as mentioned on the ad, they're $95 each, plus $11 shipping, to my zip code. That's roughly $200. Then there's installation cost. For a shop to cut off your OEM mufflers, and then weld these on (because for $95, this is ONLY the muffler, not the tailpipes), what would the cost be? I'm guessing a hundred bucks? I would guess it would take them roughly an hour to do this job.
So, that's $300 for a set of Borla mufflers. And yes, they sound NICE. And sound A LOT like my Exhaust Vents, if not the same.
One other thing, if you don't like the sound of the Borla's, or if they're too loud, well you're kind of screwed. You'd have to pay $100 again to have the Borla's cut-off, and the OEM mufflers welded back on ... that is IF you hung on to the original mufflers. I'm not certain of the integrity of the weld joint after welding the original mufflers back on.
The choice is ... $120 for Exhaust Vents that a buyer can install themselves, and if they don't like it, can easily remove.
Or, $300 for a muffler replacement.
And, $120 for Exhaust Vents, and if you don't like them, you could resell them for what ... $60 bucks? $100 bucks? You're out ONLY THE DIFFERENCE.
Or, $300 for a muffler replacement, and another hundred if you want to go back to your original mufflers. Could you resell used (welded & cut) mufflers? Maybe.
The Borla's are not a bad choice, don't get me wrong. But ... it seems like an easy choice to me.
I didn't want to take the chance on Borla's in case I didn't like the sound. Voila ... Exhaust Vents!
