Lumbar fixed!
Discovered both driver seat lumbar motor gearbox's shot in the 07 LS 460 the wife and I picked up last month. Pulley on in/out motor was cracked up and planetary gears on up/down unit were broken up into small pieces. Interim fix was to squeeze the in/out part with a quick clamp and secure with zip ties. Cheesy but better than nothing.
I emailed Schukra with my car info and address and crossed my fingers. 3 weeks later I received two gearbox rebuild kits with grease and instructions (no charge). Just got every thing installed tonight and they are working perfectly!
Kudos to Schukra for stepping up.
part numbers on bags.
More pictures to follow.

Some interim fix pics. Its not pretty, but seemed to work ok. A little lumbar support is better than none.
When removing seat back tuck the lower carpet flap into the storage area on seat back to keep it out of the way while you remove the 2 philips screws. I used a mirror to get a line on where the screws are. When screws are out you can lift up on the plastic seat back to get the upper plastic hooks to release. There is a small courtesy light at the bottom of the seat back that can be disconnected so you can get the seat back out of the way.
Pinch lumbar assembly with quickclamp or similar and secure with zip ties.

The motor assemblies are held onto the seat with 2 10mm bolts coming in from the side. Pull white plastic fabric clips out the way to access. The metal cover for the gear reduction is fastened with 2 square drive screws and a long rivet. I ground the head off the rivet to remove. (Replaced with screw and nut when reassembled as I did not have a rivet long enough.)
I initially had the cable routed incorrectly around the pulley and could only get partial in/out range. after looping the cable around the pulley the opposite way it worked fine.
The vertical adjuster went back together fine the first time with no issues. (has two cables on pulley in a push pull configuration.) Plastic and aluminum parts and pulleys are easy to reassemble.
Take pictures with your smart phone as you go!
Sorry about bright pics. Flash on phone is crazy.

This looks rather involved... I have to ask... Can the gearbox be repaired by removing only the back of the seat? The in-out mechanism went TU on me yesterday (2008, 72500miles)
It appears in your pictures that you have the lumbar mechanism out of the seat. From what I can see in the manual, this is quite the project.
Any recommendations are very welcome. Thanks for your informative post.

The video does not really show how to remove the back, once you unscrewed the 2 bottom screws retaining the back gently pull the back down, then pull toward you (the left and right hand side of the back will come to you) and pull the back down again.
Also, is the video shows how to fix the right motor, it is however important to check that the lumbar device is installed the right way… when I opened my seat I discovered the spring was not there anymore and the 2 yellow washers supposed to scroll on the vertical bars where not clipped at all. Neither the top plastic part. On this picture, despite the handling cable is missing, the device is placed properly: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/att..._131148955.jpg

Hi @falconx @slawek65 @sktn77a
Do you have any contacts available at Shukra? I'm after some replacement motors for my lumbar support as they're kapoot and my multiple requests appear to have fallen on deaf ears. I know it's a while since they were taken over by L&P but surely there are still some folk knocking around.
Did your parts or interactions come from the Canada office or the Austrian one?
Many Thanks
James
