Default A/C not right

My 08 LS 460 use to have the a/c come on automatically every time. But now, I have to set it manually after each stop or engine turn off. Is it a fuse, sensor or ???: Help!

My 07 has started doing the same thing. It seems that after turning the car off and waiting an hour or so (less/more, I'm not real sure I haven't timed it exactly) it loses its mind and I have to set it again. If I get back to it before it loses the settings then it works great. It's odd, almost like some battery has gone bad and isn't keeping the setting in memory.

From reading through the forums I can't really find a definitive answer, because I do not have any other symptoms that folks describe. My cabin air filter has not been replaced recently, the recirculation door on that filter opens and closes with no issues, and I don't hear any grinding noises or pops or anything.

I'd rather avoid taking it to the shop for a hunt and peck expedition to see if they can guess their way to a fix, so if anyone has any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
