Default Ashtray lighter power..

2006 ls430... Still new to me.
I have read the excellent thread regarding fixes of no power scenarios at the lighter.

To be clear
1.checked fuse 2 in drivers kick panel, OK (checked others as well all good)
2.removed the non conductive washer eliminating the fuse link on the lighter base.
3.checked ground with vom from ground side of lighter to viable ground in power outlet under armrest, ok
4. Checked with vom for 12 volts at power side of lighter fixture. No juice with engine running
5. checked 4 pin connection under console attached to the shift box. Power OK to the light in the lighter. No juice to the actual lighter pins.

Deducing that there must be a break in the harness before the 4 pin plug.

Question. I'm lookin for a viable 12v source to run directly to the lighter base. Again, the ground is OK.

Where might I tap off to get power to the Ashtray lighter? The closest source would seem to me to be the power outlet in the armrest console but gads... That appears to be a mother to get to. I'm not even sure what the spring loaded device above the power outlet outside of the armrest even is. Spring loaded gadgets always give me pause...

If any of you guys have a way to get to that or another hot source.. I'm willing to try. Just would like to use the Ashtray power for phone charging. The armrest source is fine as is the backseat lighter.

Hope I've been clear.

Thanks!

Default Perhaps a eureka moment..

Dang Ashtray has 3- Three so far, fuses or fusible links.

I found a 15 amp spade on the passenger kick that is indeed toast.

I will gather one up tomorrow and let you know I'd that does the trick....

A quote or thereabouts from Mr. Scott, "aye Captain, the more they fiddle with the plumbing, the easier to stop up the pipes,"

Thanks all

I believe that is where I found the "fusible link" data as well. I had just plain missed the passenger side box. Reading from my phone the Pdf of the manual is not an easy task but I will try harder.

Thanks for the help all! I really appreciate it.

My kinda thinking! I do believe a counter top was specifically designed to snip off bottle caps before twist tops were de rigure.
Good on ya!
