Default New oem rotors & pads ...what a difference!

I have always experienced a somewhat mushy non responsive brake pedal on my 2001 LS430 since my initial purchase 7 years ago even after a front and rear OEM brake replacement but only turning all rotors. Last week I replaced my front rotors and pads with new OEM. What a difference!! No more mushy pedal, less travel, and a significantly shorter response time. I'm very pleased Next week the rears are being replaced with new OEM rotors and pads. I can't believe I had to wait this long to have responsive brakes!

I have owned 01 and 02 LS430 and both had spongy brakes that took forever to engage. Just picked up an 06 and the brakes have a much better more solid feel. They engage right away and dont require much effort. On the 01 i replaced rotors with Brembo and pads with Akebono and it was a little better but still had to put my foot into the pedal to get it to stop

I know the car pulsed when I test drove so I asked for the fronts to be replaced with Oem.....they were < 25% worn but I didn't agree to the suggestion that they turn the rotors, so they agreed to do OEM. I think the dealer thought I'd agree to turning, because the used parts that were returned, well, the rotors have been cut.....it is night and day, new vs pulsation.

but I will admit these brakes do not stack up to me 335i.....and it has floating one piston calipers!

Never needed to bleed the system as it was never opened. After the new replacements my pedal came up and was firmer. It did feel the way you might expect a system to feel after air was removed by bleeding. Never was though.
