Default Customer support program expiring 08/07/16

I would just like to inform the forum that there is an expiring customer support program that will be ending on 08/07/16. If you would like to know more info on this subject you can search "Economic Loss class Action Settlement" for Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc. . It is in regards to many issues that cover some or many of the following: Cruise control switch, Accelerator Pedal Assembly, Stop Lamp Switch, Throttle Body Assembly, and Engine Control Module. There can be many issues with our cars such as hesitation on acceleration from a stop or while driving plus other issues. This program has to be found as Lexus does not volunteer this info. I found it, and for those interested I suggest contacting your dealer asap as it is expiring on August 7th, 2016. Good luck to all.

Thanks for posting. I called Toyota, working through all the prompts to get to a real human. They were actually quite unhelpful. Funny thing was, I replaced the stop lamp switch on my 2003 a year ago. Originally called the dealer, asking for an appointment. But they were booked a week out. I just drove down there in my wife's car and bought the part, and then installed. However, talking with the service rep or parts guy, they never mentioned this was a covered repair under the big settlement. Probably due to the hush-hush nature of the PDF file sent to dealers.

Anyways, Toyota was zero help. Since the previous owner cashed the claim, they had zero interest in helping. Just thought I'd share, because Lexus/Toyota is usually pretty good about these issues.

Had to have the stop lamp switch replaced on my 2001 4 years ago about 6 months before I traded it in after the car would not shift out of park. They never mentioned it and I paid for the repair. I forget the amount but it wasn't so cheap I know that. Wish they would be more forthcoming and admit these things to their customers who spend good money on their cars...

There is a direct link to this class action law suit settlement under my thread titled "Intermittent loss of power" under post 37. The dealers are prohibited on soliciting this settlement and most owners do not know anything about it. They should have made a Sticky for this forum. Only a few more days left for a problem many LS430 owners have.

Yeah, I read the PDF. Dealers could get fined for releasing details of the agreement. That said, I think it's funny they didn't mention the repair would be free when I called to try and schedule a stop lamp install, specifically mentioning the exact repair.

Also read that the settlement for us owners was $250M, not including the lawyer's compensation of $227M with their expenses included.

Could you get the stop lamp install even if it is currently working without any problem?

I appreciate you bringing this up. I wonder if those of us that spent the money without knowing there was a class action lawsuit would be entitled to a refund?

I believe there is a stipulation that there will not be any retroactive compensation for past repairs. The PDF is quite comprehensive and long (15 pages). If you want to read it, you still have a few more days to act on it. Good luck.

I originally posted this information for Boca and PM'ed others having issues ostensibly covered by this Program, because it is NOT being communicated by dealers. See my post #38 https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...f-power-3.html

Attached is the full Customer Support Program.
