Default Can You Replace Door Speaker Grill Cloth

Hey guys,

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to replace the speaker cloth covering on the door panels? The one on my front passenger door has a hole in it a little smaller than a dime

Can just the speaker grill/cloth be removed from the door panel and replaced?

I tried searching, but did not see any results.

I'll try to post a picture later.

Thanks

I am sure that you can by buying new speaker grill cloth. You would just have to remove the door panels to get to the back and unhook the grill.

That's what I was afraid of. Just to make sure, I reached out to one of the parts vendors on this site and they confirmed that speaker grill is not sold separately and that the whole door panel would have to be replaced. So, does anyone have a good source for the speaker cloth?

Reason the grill is not sold separately is due to the fact the grill is not attached to the door with any type of removable hardware. You would need to drill out the fasteners which are part of the door panel itself in order to remove the grill to re do the fabric. Also one of the fasteners passes through the grill and holds the door handle on. If you were to remove the grill by drilling out the fasteners and figured just epoxy in back it, Im not sure how long it would last. With the force of closing the door by pulling on the door handle that epoxy would fail. But thats just my thought and I could be wrong about the epoxy.
