Default the gong

can anybody tell me how shut off this gong with its annoying ding, ding, ding?

any ideas???
does it need to be disconnected or is there a fuse to pull?

it is this warning ding ding ding when the key is in the ignition and the door is open

The "gong" as you called it, is a customizable function for the LS430. Refer to the top of Page 6 on the attached, the "gong" is called "Key Reminder Buzzer Volume" which you can set to small, medium, or large. The default setting is Large. Unfortunately, turning it completely off is not one of the options.

thanks for the info
as far as I understand the endresult is: I cannot disable it - only turn the volume down.
I do not have a diagnostic tool, so the buzzer will stay as it is.

ding ding for now

The Toyota TIS Techstream Diagnostic Cable & Software can be purchased from Amazon.com for less than $20, which will allow you to change any customizable function on the list I provided previously (Post #5). It'll be the best $20 you've ever spent! I run the software off of an old WindowXP laptop. Take a look at the link below for more details...

Couldn't agree more. The Techstream software is invaluable to owners like us. A plethora of info and options that can be set via that software.
