I too would have already had the professional restoration done on my headlights even though they are not yellowed and not all that bad. However, I was told by a Lexus service manager who looked at them that due to a few areas that are very rough, trying to restore them might actually ruin them.

Well, you have nothing to lose if you were set on replacing anyway (except the cost of the kit). I don't really see how they could "ruin" the lenses.
Mine were in bad shape, they felt like sandpaper to the touch, and the kit was a massive improvement.
