At Mammoth, Squaw, driving down to the beaches in snows to San Fran, San Diego, LA make all seasons and limited use chains common.

Yeah not a lot else you can do in that kind of situation.

Just a little snow today... Looks like now I have a chance to test out the Blizzacks.

which one is your car? :=)
Even with Blizzaks - this is not good to get on the road
Can you imagine what happens to those drivers who think All seasons are ok?

Here is the WRX and LS buried. On the side streets the snow is still pretty bad today. I can't imagine on all seasons. I saw a neighbor rip her front bumper off last night on her new Accord and plenty of people slipping and sliding. I decided to take the LS over the WRX to work mainly because of ground clearance (UL in high mode) and that it has snow tires vs the summer tires on the Subaru. I'm sure the WRX AWD would have been fine but with the snow as high as it was I did not want to damage her as she is still very new. Only 3200 miles. The LS did great. Nothing like having to dig out a parking spot after working a long day and driving home.

Atlanta never had snow like that, Lav ... you move north and a record-setting snowfall finds you.

Totally warm. I put the old floor mats back in for this exact reason.

The carpeted OEM mats wash up real sweet time and again. In the tub hot water soap they will be good as new in the spring wen the crud is in the rivers.

My first year on patrol at Mammoth was an El Nino year we got 750 inches I think it was 1993. Pictures like this where common. They had places to put the snow and huge 6-7 foot high snow throwers cutters.

WOW!!!

Conditions like that make me glad I live in N TX!
If I were living up there, I would've kept my H1 and mounted some huge snow tires or chains (NATO-grade Pewags).
I can appreciate why so many folks move down here, stating that they got so tired of shoveling snow!
