Default ML Amp removal....and sub question

Ok...so I followed a YouTube video to remove my amp....it was enough to get the job done but my set up was diff then the video. Mine had the parking sensor computer attached to the amp.....and it did NOT just pop right out after removing 2 nuts.........for others in the future...note there are two nuts and two white grommets that snap in the frame. After somehow getting the amp and the parking computer out I noticed there is some kind of quick release mechanism that would have made the removal so much easier. It looks like u remove one bolt and one of the units will slide free.......anyone out there....that confirm how this works???? Mine is a 2004 LS430

Anyway I got the amp out then reinstalled the parking sensor computer......now just need to get my amp replaced......

Still have a looming question before I drop big bucks on the amp repair.....previous owner replaced subwoofer with a Pioneer brand sub. I have the sub almost unearthed.....but my question to the audiophiles is.....was there or has there ever been and sub made by Pioneer that worked properly with our system.......If not , surely the sub would be the reason that my amp malfunctioned.

so 2 questios here

Does anyone know how the amp quick release works for 2004?

Is there or has ther ever been a Pioneer sub that works with our system?

Thanks

Here's what the repair manual says about your first question...

Thanks RKW.........ya that manual isnt very clear and doesnt mention quick release .......I will post a pic later that shows the quick release. I will figure out how it works during reinstall.

As for the sub...after more research tonight I have come to realize that a lot of pioneer product was used in our cars. I should have been more specific. I am including a pic of my pioneer sub that possibly an audiophile will recognize as yes this works w ML system or no it doesnt and will fry the amp.....pic enclosed

Oh crap....fingers crossed.......is our ML system 2 ohms or 4 ohms......??????

I was able to see a part number on my subwoofer and it is 4ohms.......if in correct this could have blown my amp......

To answer one of your questions, nearly any subwoofer will work with the amp if the impedence of the speaker is in the operating range of the amp. To answer your other question the ML amp and speakers are designed around a 12ohm impedence.
