2004 Ls430 Head Light Removal ?
hi guys
every time it rains i see moisture inside headlight, so plan is to take head light out take it apart clean it and reseal it.
I know you have to take bumper off but is there any other way of removing head light without having to remove bumper ?
or
any other moisture fix ?
thanks

You have to take the bumper off. There is no other way.
Also order some butyl tape, and a moisture bag. Both these things you can find on www.theretrofitsource.com
Use the new tape to reclose your headlight tight and secure. And the moisture bags you just keep in the headlights so that they take in the moisture from the headlight.

right so here is some update.
my both covers are fine and tight. after many searches online, conclusion is that you have to take bumper off.
I cant be bother with taking bumper off so I came up with alternative, Im not sure if its right or wrong but did the trick so i am happy so far.
Obviously there is some gap or leak somewhere causing moisture / water / air to get in. I though what if I make some room for cross ventilation.
I drilled small 4 x holes in round plastic back cover which covers main HID bulb. Holes are tiny but big enough for air to get in / out but not big enough to let bugs etc in.
Within 4 hours moisture disappeared and light is super dry now and no more moisture at all

It is not necessary to remove the bumper--I took both my headlight assemblies out to replace the bulb and ballast with no problem. Just have to pop it over the bumper slightly--not as scary as it seemed.

bringing this back up......for the original posted.....can you advise or show pictures of where exactly the holes were drilled (i know the cover for the bulb, but right in the center or off set)? what size drill bit was used? i was thinking i have to replace my light assembly. but if drilling holes would work, then that would save some money.
