Thinking About Buying 2002 Lexus LS430
I'm thinking about getting a 2002 Lexus LS430 with 150k miles for 6k. I know these questions are asked all the time, but is that a lot of mileage for this model? How long should I expect it to last before anything major like head gaskets or transmission repairs? It's being sold by a Dealer and is in excellent condition and has a clean title, and it's also never been in an accident. Should I get it or is the mileage something to worry about?

Looks like a good deal. The main thing you need to do is go to the Lexus web site, go to Owners Resources and input the VIN no. You will be able to get the maintenance history or at least part of it.
If the maintenance has been done I would go for it in a heartbeat!
Good Luck!

welcome to the board, its pretty simple tell them you will give them a deposit and you want to take the car to a mechanic, go t a lexus garage or a toyota specialist, if the car has not been hit or sprayed and has 150 k if the fluids have been changed and cared for the car will last 500,000. i bought a 98 ls with 70k that was just breaking in,
for 6k the car at 150 will be better than any american used car with 50k, not kidding, expect some rubber issues from the amount of years and have the mechanic update you on brake pad life and rotor condition so you can make sure you don't have a 500 expense when you get it. the car has expensive parts so like my past posts on used cars you have to expect a part could fail that might cost 400 part and 500 install for 900. if you can't afford that then you don't buy it but looks also like your car has the 16 inch wheels with those wheels and size this car at 150k will ride better than a 50,000 car new
cheers

Timing belt and water pump changes and oil changes will keep the engine going strong. All other stuff is going to have wear and tear . I have a 2002 ul and I'm changing all bushing, front end suspension parts had to replace a fuel injector a coil . Just have some cash for replacing some parts if you want to keep that superior ride. 6 years and she never left me stranded accept for when I couldn't change a flat because of bad locknuts.

It is really great reading these posts. I learn so much. Thanks hms09. I went to that Lexus website, and pulled up the service information on my car. ( I purchased a used 2001 Lexus Ultra LS430) The previous owner lied about so many things and refused to give me the service records. It was nice to go to this site and see the previous records. Thank you so much.
