I have AM SAT button in non-nav pioneer...
....But cannot seem to get any xm "mode" when pushing, is it setup for xm or is the sat button just there for no reason?

If you add a VAIS or iSimple adjunct unit to the back of the radio as well as a satellite radio receiver that button toggles through AM and 3 or 4 sat settings as well. Easy project maybe $250 dollars and an afternoon - plus the subscription to Sirius or XM
