* LS430 Driver Seat problem* please heLp
Hello everyone, i'll cut to the chase.... i have almost 190k miles on my LS430 and maintain everything to the T... engine and trans are A+ and car runs like new no engine lights...
Well my problem now is that my driver seat recently broke when i sat in my car and adjusted my self.. keep in mind im 6'3 300ish pounds... i know..... anyways.. all functions on my seat work except for the leg room function to slide seat forward and backward... it seems to only move to the back on the left hand side or track and stops... i know something is broke or off the track, i just couldnt find any threads on what it will take to remove the driver seat and really investigate the problem.
I removed the drawer and lifted seat all the way up and saw a metal piece broken on the front right track area.. But i couldnt manage to get the seat pushed back at all to where i could drive it.. It is currently on my wife's setting which is going to make it impossible for me to drive my own car.. Ive seen diagrams of the seat, but if anyone has advise on what it will take to remove the seat or pictures or writeups, it will be much appreciated.. my hope is that if it isnt hard to remove seat, i can have whatever it was that broke welded back in place or just somehow get the seat positioned for me to use the car... thx in advance for the help, any insight would be great..

Removing the seat is not difficult but it is heavy. It helps to have a second person to help get it out of the car. I have only done it on my LS400 but I understand the procedure is the same for a LS430.
The seat is held on by 1 bolt in each corner, you may have to remove plastic bolt covers with a flat head screw driver. Then move the steering column and wheel as far up and out of the way as possible. Remove the 4 bolts (I don't remember the socket size) and tilt the seat forward or back to unplug the electrical harnesses.
I found it easiest to tilt it back, turn it sideways and take it out the rear passenger door. A friend is very helpful for this part. In any case, parts are available from the online Lexus parts dealers like Sewell or Lexus of Pembroke Pines. Good luck, hope this helped.

OK i figured it out. There is a 19mm nut under a cap you have to pop off on the front of each rail directly in front under driver seat. On each side, pop off the cap and then use the 19mm socket to manually move seat forward or back ward. This temporarily fixed my problem to where i can drive until replaced..
Hopes this helps anyone that may have this issue. Thanx for the reply sgretchko

I had a very similar problem, I am a big guy too 260# and 6'4" and I drive fast most of the time. See pictures attached of the broken support arm. I see you are from Texas, I have a shop in Dallas that does interior repair, brought the seat to them, they welded it, picked it up the next day. He offered to do it same day, but I was in no hurry. They charged $100, Lexus dealer wanted $3000 to fix it. They have also repaired some leather for me, they did a great job at that too.

I had this same thing happen to me this week. Thanks for posting the pics and solution. I'm going to contact a local shop to see if I can get a similar repair. Parts from Lexus were over $2000. They told me an entire new seat would run $8000. Yikes.

I think I have this problem. Can someone point me to instructions for the removal on the plastic trim on the bottom of the driver's seat?
