ATF in general isn't much of a lubricant,it's primarily a hydraulic fluid, used for power transmission.
Some manual trans cars spec using ATF to help with shift issues, and I've always advised against that where relevant due to the different properties of gear oil and ATF.
Dextron II,III or IV are interchangeable in this application. Dextron III is usually listed as a replacement alternative for Toyota type IV and Nissan Trans-D,so either of those would likely be suitable also.
Power steering isn't an art form. It just needs to be fed clean fluid. different viscoscity ratings,or mineral or synthetic won't make or break the deal. Any fluid will get the job done if it's on the list as compatible.

I used Mobil ATF. Had to change the fluid twice. My fluid was brown. The pump was a bit noisy after the 1st fluid change. I will check again this weekend to see if the noise is gone.
