01 wheels for 04
I thought there was a thread for this, but now I can't find it through searching. Someone had asked about 16" rims on the new LS430, and someone had said it will fit and direct bolt on.
Can someone please confirm this? I'm thinking of purchasing the 16" rims on the '01 (seven spoke) and using them on my '04 for winter tires. I figure going smaller will give me better fuel efficiency (atleast during winter as I won't use them year round) and I'm thinking of putting 205/65x16 on them. Any issues there?
Thanks everyone.

Alex see if yu can find some 17" like these...
I think the 17's will look & ride better than the 16's. Also the 17" wheels came on the 04-06, that did not have the 18" wheels.

Here is a thread that includes a comment from "LA Wheel" about "any 1995-2002 LS series wheels will bolt right on actually" to an LS430 with 18" wheels: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...-06-ls430.html
LA Wheel has said the same thing in a number of other threads. Last time I noticed, he was using 16" 01-02 LS430 wheels on his UL and said that he found that he disliked the ride quality with larger wheels and low profile tires.
I wouldn't bother with the 205/65-16 tires. My 00 LS400 does wonderfully well in the winter with 225/60-16 Bridgestone Blizzak winter tires. Click the trans into "Snow mode" and it does better than the stuck 4WD vehicles I regular pass.

Yeah, they'll fit. I have 02 LS430 16" wheels on my 03 LS430 that originally came with the 17" wheels. The ride is maybe a skosh better with the 16's and the 16's are about 5pounds less per wheel/tire.

Thanks Tee, but those are the OEM that I have on my '04 now and they're fine. The tires are brand new and I actually was thinking of going to the OEM five spoke 18" once the tires go, so that I have 18 for warm and 17 for winter, but after reading and looking into timing and stuff, I switched to wanting the 17 I have now for summer and getting the 16 for winter.
As reference, these are the 16 I'm talking about. I know that the bigger wheels will retro-fit back to the '01-'03, I'm worried the older ones will not fit into the '04-'06, if something has changed or gotten bigger.
Thanks everyone.

Anyway, you seem to really like the Blizzacks. What model do you run? I know there are a few like W60 or something like that.
Thanks again.

Thanks Kansas. That was the thread I was looking for exactly. Wow, it was back in August. I thought it was something not too long ago I read it.

There are other great snow tires but I have been especially pleased that the Blizzak WS50 snow tires have been quieter and smoother riding than any other snow tire I have bought -- and I have bought snow tires for almost every RWD car I have owned since the 1960s. I hope the WS60's are at least as good.
Maybe I'm just too traditional (or old!) but I prefer the simpler seven spoke wheels of the 01-02 LS430 and am glad they came standard on my 00 LS400 Platinum. I guess I'm just not into "flash" and don't like wheels to be the main focal point of a car. I sure like that 16" tires are usually way less expensive than larger diameter tires and provide a more comfortable ride.

Like your signature... "reformed"
Like LA Wheels said, the wheels are fugly, but they're my kind of fugly and I love them... ha ha.
Thanks to all for your ideas. CL is great...
Peace out brothas... and sistas...
