Side mirrors don't hold consistent positions
I have a 2002 LS430. I recently noticed that the side mirrors' positions are frequently slightly off from the preset positions and have to manually adjust them. I have the mirror sset so that they tilt down in reverse and fold in when the car is turned off. Has anyone else experience the same problem?

Side Mirrors Don't Hold
I have the same problem on my '90 LS400. It drives me crazy, but considering the age of the car, I can't complain too much. You on the other hand have a 2002— it should not happen!
Anybody have advice on dealing with loose mirrors? Can they be tightened up?

WOBBLY MIRRORS
Guys
You will find that the cause is either of the following:
1. The mirror rubber gasket between the mirror casing and pivit is worn or shrunken; or
2. The screws under the mirror that attach the mirror casing to the body post are loose.
I hop this info helps.
I had the same problem on my 91 LS and resolved it by gluing in a flat rubber washer.
