Anyone know if the new LED bulb assemblies use a standard bulb socket so they would fit in other vehicles??? I would like to put the new '04 LED bulbs in my LS430...

I briefly looked into this with my Lexus parts department. The wiring harnesses have different part#'s between the 02-03 and 04's. I then went into the show room and was given permission to try pulling the brake lights out of a 04 to see if they could be plugged or spliced into my 02 harness. The brake LED bulbs in the outer lenses appeared to be non-removable, unlike the amber turn signal bulb that did twist out easily and then my salesman made the comment "why would they need to be removed if they don't burn out!" so I stopped trying to twist the brake LED lights out for fear of breaking one. On this same trip I also confirmed with the parts department that the 04' top (rear deck) brake light is still the same bulb and part as the 01-03. I thought LED would have been used here too .

So, I figured if I ever replaced the rear outer lenses for the 04' clear ones like I really want too, then I'd replace the wiring harness with LED bulbs too. Or just find "the best" aftermarket LED bulbs and replace all my bulbs without going with the expensive 04' parts.

Maybe we could make this a LS430 group effort to find LED bulbs and clear corner lenses for our 01-03's.
