I am trying to decide whether or not to get the sport package on an 04 LS, and I keep coming across the disclaimer talking about greater tire wear and tire life that may be "substantially less than 20,000 miles".
Does anybody know more specific numbers on what can realistically be expected from these bigger wheels? Is there much difference between 17" and 18" as far as tread life?

Not sure about tire wear on 18's. got 50 on 17 on my yukon.Got 45 on 17 on my !996 Impala SS. but I rotate evry 10,000 for $12. !8's qre summer only soyou or i will need winter tires & wheels if you get 18's.. I plan on doin 5-8,000 a winter on the winter tires & wheels. So at 20 ,000 year you might get 3 years out of 18's. If you just want to enjoy and drive get the 17's and simply enjoy owning such a fine automblie. I really want the look of 18's and the sport pkg. don't forget there are 2 sport pkgs. pkg 1 and pkg 2. One is cast 18's and 2 is Chrome 18's.
